Majority of people get greater satisfaction from your failures than your accomplishments. If you succeed in something, it makes them feel like slobs severely lacking ambition. Ah but if you fail, it comforts them. It’s a pat on the back letting them know it’s okay to be lazy and that they’re not such a loser. “It’s okay, at least you didn’t fuck up like that guy/girl.”
